Is Chris Evans Actually Quitting as Captain America?

Chris Evans as Captain America back in 2011
Avengers superhero, Captain America will leave the Marvel series following the Avengers: Infinity War. Chris Evans subtly confirms Steve Rogers' exit and reveals the reason behind quitting Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This comes as bad news for fans as the actor is one of the most favorite characters from the series. Evans signed a six-movie deal with Marvel as against the nine-film deal proposed.

Chris Evans only signed a six film contract with Marvel when he first agreed to star in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’, negotiating it down from the original offer of nine. After these two ‘Avengers’ films Evans will have actually starred in seven Marvel films as Captain America, but since they’re filming back-to-back they’re probably being regarded as one.

During the same above interview Chris Evans points out that working on a Marvel film is so time consuming that it leaves him with very little room to explore other creative outlets. That’s because he has to spend five months on its production, as well as several months beforehand getting in shape, then a couple more months promoting the film, while there’s also reshoots and whatnot to contend with, too.

Considering he’s been in the role since 2011, and made his directorial debut with ‘Before We Go’ in 2014, there are clearly other parts and films that Chris Evans would like to grapple with. And with either Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) or Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) waiting in the wings to take over as Captain America, as per comics, this is far from the end for the beloved character, just a new beginning.
