MUST-VISIT restaurants in Shah Alam

Shah Alam is known as a mostly Malay-centric area, divided into sections with hidden gems of amazing food! We take you on a tour of some of Shah Alam's very best, with restaurants and cafés encompassing halal Chinese cuisine,

Western cuisine, and an emphasis on the rich flavours of authentic Malay cuisine. These dining establishments are located throughout Kota Kemuning, Glenmarie, Seksyen 7, and beyond, so you’ll have a great restaurant to go to no matter where you are in Shah Alam!

Grandeur Gallery Café
Grandeur Gallery Café is both an art gallery and a café, providing diners with tasteful art and tasty food! Brunches and cakes are served on the first floor, while art pieces and paintings decorate the walls. If you like something you see, you can even take it home to support the art community!

Grandeur Gallery’s brunch sets (RM14.90) come with buttered peppercorn toast, roasted potatoes, salad with sesame dressing, a shot of yoghurt, and choices of an omelette, scrambled eggs, or a bacon wrap with either coffee or tea (this generous dish is sure to fill you up till lunchtime)! We chose the omelette, which had the most perfect mushy centre, filled with melted cheese and caramelised onions.

This omelette melted in our mouths!

Grandeur Gallery’s signature pork burger (RM16) is definitely something you won’t want to miss out on! Their toasted sesame seed bun comes with a well-seasoned grilled pork steak, topped with a sunny-side-up egg, on a bed of sliced tomatoes, lettuce, and mayo. This dish even comes with crinkle-cut potato crisps and a salad on the side for a full-blown meal that’s worth its price!

Sips & Bites Café
Sips & Bites is a family-run café, with a bright interior painted in cool shades of blue and silver. Painted pictures of coffee and flowers adorn the walls, while diners have relaxed conversations below them.

The cool blue and slate grey of these walls made for an artistic combination

Their menu serves up an all-day breakfast, pastas, sandwiches, and waffles! The big breakfast (RM20) is a generous serving of turkey ham, chicken sausage, hash browns, sautéed mushrooms, scrambled eggs, and two thick slices of toasted wholemeal bread that’ll be sure to fill you up!

Waffles with berries and nuts (RM17.90) is the only item for dessert because it’s just that good! Strawberries, blueberries, and chopped nuts are scattered all over the giant waffle, along with a drizzle of chocolate sauce, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream to top it all off. We recommend asking for two scoops of vanilla ice cream instead of just one to pair with all that sweet goodness!
